Altas Strength Light-commercial Smith Machine AL-3136

I received my order 3 days after ordering and was impressed by the quality. The steel is heavier gauge than what my Marcy squat rack is built out of. I ran into an issue during assembly; one of the screw holes for the back rest wasn't threaded. Could only attach 5 screws out of 6. I contacted customer service and they shipped me a new back seat free of charge. I replaced it and it's perfect now. Been using it every day for the last week and I love it. Very steady.

This was the first Altas product that I bought and right after decided to return an extension and curl leg attachment because I didn’t like it so I was worried to have the same disappointment, because I was really interested about the curl and leg part instead of the full bench as I already have one but right now I’m considering keep only AL-4026 because it’s complete, really great in quality and have all attachments that I was looking for.

The unique cons that I have it’s a really small scratch close to the main structure but it’s just visible if someone find and show because the brackets to control bench height and position covered this. Probably was because of the shipping, not sure, but doesn’t impact anything so I decided to not return because of that.

Great machine so far. Very stable no concerns with it moving around at all. Being 1:1 the cables are shorter so if your a taller person you may run out of cable to do a proper seated row as the stack hits the top of the machine I'm 5’9 and have no issues. Some where saying the set up and instructions where bad but I had no issues at all just need to look at the photos carefully they did update the instructions to have the smith machine weights installed on the first page now not step 5. This machine took me 7 hours to fully assemble by myself and that’s including the time to open the crate and move everything into the house. The smith machine bars where very well lubricated almost to much as I had a hard time hanging onto them to install as the kept slipping out of my hand but once together glides like butter. Overall I love this machine it does everything I need to plus new ways to target other muscle groups. The packaging this unit came in was great and kept everything nice and neat while coming completely undamaged.

The AL-4017 is a solid bench for the price. While bare bones, it’s stylish and premium enough to serve as an adequate “spare.”

Very good quality machine; huge difference for my Workouts.

Attractive. Ergonomic. Well designed and well manufactured. Excellent addition to my home gym. Just what an aging weight lifter needs. Vertical lift is preferred to slant lift.

Great bench built from heavy wall tubing. Easy to assemble with comfortable seat and back. The fit and finish is excellent! The angles for the back rest cut out of the tube is a nice touch to keep you consistent in your workouts. The only thing that would be nice is if the back was a little shorter to align with the back leg to stand vertical better to save space.
